Samsung beefs up the Galaxy S9's color pallet with red and gold

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus starts at Rs.64,900 for the 64GB variant, while the 128GB variant costs Rs.68,900.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus devices will soon be available in Sunrise Gold and Burgundy Red. If we had to pick, we'd go for the Burgundy Red version, which looks striking without being too bright like Apple's red iPhones.

It also comes a week after the company first debuted the Burgundy Red edition in China. The flagship handset will also be available in Sunrise Gold, joining the previously offered Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple.

They look fantastic, but they're only available in select markets for now, and the U.S. and United Kingdom aren't included. The new finishes are available both for Galaxy S9 and the bigger S9 Plus.

While Galaxy S9 now supports ARCore, it will be interesting to see how Samsung and Google work together to bring support on the future devices. At the time, Samsung admitted that it chose to introduce the new color option in the country, so it could revitalize its struggling performance there. And, the other variant was detailed as "The Burgundy Red edition is one of the deepest red colors available featuring restrained gloss for added density and a look that is contemporary and traditional - flawless for users who appreciate luxurious design". Unfortunately, at this stage, only one of the two colors is confirmed for the Australian market.
