#MeToo is 'here to stay' says Game Of Thrones queen Emilia Clarke

Speaking to ET at Solo's premiere, the actress said that she felt inclined to say that one of her Game of Thrones co-stars should get the part: "I feel like I have to say Kit Harington". "It really feels like preparing to leave home...that's exciting, but it's sad and scary all at the same time", she said.

Turning to her work on Solo, Clarke spoke about her excitement of being involved with Star Wars: "My brother was a huge fan, he's my big brother". You're telling me that there's another option? "You think a lead in a movie is gonna be a weak woman?".

"So I think it's mainly in the beginning, just be aware of that and going, 'Can you just check?"

"Unless I'm packing guns I don't know about, then let's change that", she continued.

Clarke, who made her comments during an interview at Cannes, said actors need to be attentive during negotiations for roles. "It was my first job and I was not discriminated against because I was a woman, in my pay cheque".

Looks like they do things differently in Westeros: Emilia Clarke, Game of Thrones' Daenerys Targaryen, has said she has never experienced a gender pay gap on the HBO fantasy drama.

She added to Variety magazine at the "Women In Motion" panel at Cannes Film Festival: "You start to dig deep and see where it is, rife in the industry".

While walking the crimson carpet for a screening of Solo: A Star Wars Story with fellow movie stars Alden Ehrenreich as the young Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Thandie Newton, it was impossible to miss Clarke's buoyant smile. "If you're only asking women, it's like we're just show ponies".

The filming for the eighth and the final season of Game of Thrones is underway - the epic fantasy series that shows Clarke breaking all the taboos of the patriarchal society while playing a very powerful character of Daenerys Targaryen.

Emilia claimed to not know how it will end and said no-one would be able to predict it.
