According to ABC affiliate WVAW, firefighters would only confirm that authorities are investigating a plane crash.

There has been no word on what caused the plane to go down. Severe weather and tornado warnings have moved throughout the region on Sunday.

The winds Sunday night in Crozet would have been enough to buffet the small plane, but the fixed-wing aircraft is created to fly though severe turbulence.
