One person killed in Lawrenceville house fire

A fire Saturday afternoon in Virginia left one house heavily damaged. At noon, French Village and Fairview Heights fire crews were still working at the scene, making sure no hot spots remained in the house.

The Milan Fire Department and Dutchess County sheriff's deputies were dispatched in response to a report of a possible chimney fire just before 3 p.m. Sunday. Authorities say the homeowner noticed the fire before smoke detectors were activated.

Hickory Township Volunteer Fire Department responded and found Taylor laying in an upstairs hallway.
