Manchester City star Sergio Aguero undergoes surgery

The Argentine ace has netted 30 times in all competitions for Premier League Champions, Man City despite being off for a month with a knee problem.

City wrapped up their title run on Sunday following United's loss to West Brom and a previous victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Aguero, who famously scored the dramatic title-winning goal in stoppage-time on the final day of the 2011-12 season, is pleased no such heroics were needed this year and says manager Pep Guardiola's style of play has been particularly impressive.

"This season has been incredible and the football we've played has been the best I've been involved with while at the club". Aguero told the City website.

The side this season have been outstanding, winning 28 of their 33 league games so far and losing just two. ESPN's Mark Ogden and Jonathan Smith discuss whether Pep Guardiola can break even more league records after Manchester City won the Premier League.

Aguero, 29, has been struggling with a right knee injury and hasn't started a game since City's win against Chelsea on March 4 and made a brief substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal second leg defeat against Liverpool after being caught with a heavy challenge by Ashley Young in the Manchester derby after coming on as a sub.

"Now, the trick is making sure we kick on again next season and come back even stronger".

After the season the 29-year-old will turn his attentions to World Cup glory in Russian Federation with Argentina.

"But for now, let's enjoy the moment together with our fans and finish strongly".
