Prince William to 'walk Meghan Markle up the aisle'

The Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan Markle looked chic in classic silhouettes as they arrived at a service to mark Commonwealth Day.

The Suits star wore a sculpted cream Crombie coat - yours for $1,199 - by British designer Amanda Wakeley over a navy dress.

Markle was wearing a long white coat fastened only at the waist with a small round beret-style hat in white perched on the side of her head.

The Commonwealth Service was a true family affair for the royal family on Monday. She was accompanied by The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.

The Commonwealth Service is the largest inter-faith gathering in the United Kingdom and is now being televised on the BBC.

Former One Direction band member Liam Payne will perform during the service - but the Duke of Edinburgh, who has effectively retired from public duties, will not be attending.

He said: "We hope the younger royals like William, Catherine, Harry and Meghan will recognise the huge persecution suffered by LGBT people in the Commonwealth and speak out as they have on many social issues".

The theme for this year's service is Towards a Common Future, emphasising how the Commonwealth can address global challenges and work to create a better future for all citizens through the sub-themes of sustainability, safety, prosperity and fairness.

Elizabeth has been head of the Commonwealth since 1952 and aides say she regards the success of the organisation, which now has 53 members representing over 2.4 billion people, as one of her greatest achievements as queen.

Kate is due to give birth in April, with Kensington Palace keeping shtum on her exact due date.
