Nicole Kidman To Star in Upcoming HBO Series THE UNDOING

The Emmy-winning series originated with stars/producers Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman, who chose to option the source material themselves because they noted the lack of quality material that was being sent to them.

HBO is re-teaming with key auspices behind its breakout Big Little Lies, including star Nicole Kidman and writer David E. Kelley. for a new limited series based on a bestselling book.

'David has created another propulsive series with a fascinating, complicated female role as its centre, ' she said. As she starts to search for him, she uncovers that she didn't really know the man she thought she did.

The actresses will star in and executive produce the series.

Casey Bloy, HBO's president of programming, said: "We're thrilled to continue our creative relationships with both Nicole and David, and can't wait to bring this show to life".

Added Kelley: "I loved this book". Big Little Lies was one of those shows, which was originally intended as a limited series but was such a hit on HBO that the network not only paid up for a second season, but enlisted Andrea Arnold to direct and Meryl Streep to co-star.

Nicole's new role will see her play Grace Sachs, a happy wife and mother who's on the brink of publishing her first novel. Kidman has now been working on Big Little Lies for which she won both an Emmy and a Golden Globes. Kidman will exec produce via her Blossom Films banner, with the company's Per Saari also attached. Blossom is now developing an adaptation of the books The Silent Wife, Reconstructing Amelia, Janice Lee's best-seller The Expatriates, and the off-Broadway vampire play Cuddles. Kidman also appeared in HBO's Hemingway and Gellhorn alongside Clive Owen in 2012, garnering her Emmy®, SAG and Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal as Martha Gellhorn.

Kelley is represented by CAA and attorney Michael Gendler.
