Razer wants its smartphone to be a laptop

This also allows the user to use the Razer phone as a trackpad for the laptop itself, giving you a decent sized trackpad that also will allow you to perform various tasks that you would on the phone on the bigger screen.

A full-size, built-in keyboard adds to the capabilities of Project Linda, providing enhanced productivity and differentiated gaming experiences.

It's worth noting that Razer's hybrid laptop-phone concept is hardly the first of its kind, with both Motorola's Atrix and Asus' PadFone delivering similar concepts, neither of which were all that successful. It features a 13.3-inch Quad-HD touchscreen that extends the 120 Hz experience of Razer Phone to a larger display.

The keyboard is full-sized, but is optimized for the Android OS, with dedicated keys for selecting specific apps, as well as those for search and navigation, the release noted.

The Razer Phone is the first smartphone from the company, and it has attracted quite some attention with the industry's first 120Hz display in a smartphone and dual-amplified front-facing stereo speakers along with powerful hardware. The Razer Chroma™ backlighting is ideal for low-light situations and can also be personalized with millions of color options.

Designed for mobility, the unibody CNC aluminum chassis of Razer Project Linda is just 0.59-inch (15 mm) thin and weighs under three pounds (1.25 kg) including the docked phone.

The concept laptop also features a 53.6Whr internal battery that can charge the docked phone to full capacity over three times, Razer says. At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week the company introduced Project Linda, a shell of a laptop powered by the company's smartphone. Inside the laptop is 200 GB of storage, allowing for offline backups and additional local media and app storage.

Another perk of having the Razer phone on hand is that you'll be getting the superior sound quality that the phone has to offer, seeing as its speakers point up.

If you didn't know, Razer's Linda turns your smartphone into a laptop.
