Obama Danced With Prince Weeks Before He Died, Ex-President Tells Letterman

Filled with chatter about karate kicks and dance moves, the first clip of David Letterman's exclusive interview with former president Barack Obama was released Wednesday afternoon by Netflix, in advance of its Friday premiere. The first episode will stream on Friday, January 12, and a new episode will be made available each subsequent month in 2018. In the video, the politician shared the amusing anecdote about his 16-year-old daughter Sasha making him show off his "dad" dance moves in front of the "Purple Rain" crooner.

The former leader of the free world said he resorts to "dad moves" whenever he tries to cut the rug.

It marks Obama's first TV talk show appearance since leaving the White House.

"I think the key is. what we call staying in the pocket", he tells Letterman in the video. "Right? You gotta stay in the pocket because I think everybody here knows dads who get out of the pocket, and they're trying stuff that they can't really pull off". Like he always used to do on Late Night, Letterman laughs it off.

Dave's lineup of influential guests includes George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Jay-Z, Tina Fey, Howard Stern and President Barack Obama. Obama responds, and Letterman, 70, bursts out into laughter.

Last week, it was revealed that Barack Obama would be stepping back into the talk show circuit, at least to visit David Letterman for his upcoming Netlix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman.
