Meghan Markle deletes social media accounts

Markle curbed her posting the moment news broke that she and Harry were dating in November 2016.

In an interview with In Touch, Samantha referred to the Ralph & Russo dress Meghan wore during her engagement photoshoot with Prince Harry. Although in recent years, the royal family has gotten on board with the use of social media in an official sense - Kensington Palace, Clarence House and The Royal Family all have Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts that they use to share updates on members of the family.

Her official departure from social media isn't entirely unexpected.

Whether considering Elizabeth II's ill-advised decision to marry Prince Philip (they're still going 70 years strong) or her sister Margaret's well-publicized affairs and semi-nude portrait, it's maybe unsurprising that rules are frequently broken on account of there being so damn many. Then in April 2017, after she and Harry became serious, she announced on Instagram that she was closing the blog. The royal wedding of Prince Harry and the American actress will take place on May 19.

Though her account was still active until just a few hours ago, she hasn't been using social media much as of late.

Though a lot of people anticipated this will happen considering that the British royals aren't allowed to run their personal social media accounts, it still comes as a shock and a lot of her fans are devastated.
