Mario Tennis Aces, Payday 2, and More Announced in Nintendo Direct

Following some quite frankly overwhelming and confusing reactions on the internet, we've finally received confirmation through Nintendo's Mini Direct that Dark Souls would be coming to the Nintendo Switch in the form of Dark Souls Remastered. The games that are coming to the Switch includes a new Mario Tennis title and ports of The Worlds Ends With You, updates to Odyssey, perhaps most unexpectedly, Dark Souls, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Payday 2.

On the first-party side, Nintendo announced Kirby Star Allies will arrive for the Switch on March 16th, while the new title Mario Tennis Aces is slated for release sometime in the Spring. Previously announced for other platforms, this is the first news of the IP reaching the Nintendo Switch. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze arrives on Switch on May 4.

Action-RPG Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana features rhythmic battles, large monsters, anime cutscenes, and base-building. Mario Tennis Aces will also feature a new story campaign, something that has been absent from the series since Mario Tennis: Power Tour for the Game Boy Advance.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is getting new downloadable content, and it focuses on one of Nintendo's leading characters. Although it is only a brief tease of the upcoming release, the slither of gameplay that we've seen so far leaves a good impression and has us hopeful that Mario Tennis Aces may just knock it out of the park.

Coupled with Bayonetta 1 and 2 as well as Dragon Quest Builders slated for a February release, it sees that Nintendo Switch owners have a wealth of choices for what to buy next. The story mode will have players traveling across the Mushroom Kingdom participating in matches, minigames, and boss battles. You will also be able to play with any friend anytime. Payday 2 was also announced for the Switch.

Yep. Payday 2 is coming with new features so that players can rob banks like never before. From Software's original Dark Souls experience is coming remastered for the Nintendo Switch.

Super Mario Odyssey is getting a free update that adds a new post-game online mode. You'll run, climb, and glide through its many mysteries and use motion controls of the Joy-Con to sing in tune with creatures and plants to unlock new abilities.
