Kevin Spacey investigated by Scotland Yard over third complaint of sexual assault

Fans were left shocked when sexual misconduct allegations surfaced against former House of Cards star Kevin Spacey in 2017.

Scotland Yard has launched an investigation into a new allegation against Kevin Spacey of sexual assault, the third such inquiry by London police into the Oscar-winning actor.

Spacey has yet to be formally charged with any offences since Anthony Rapp came forward and alleged he was sexually molested by Spacey in the 1980s at a party when Rapp was just 14. TMZ reports that the alleged victim files a report on December 13th claiming that Spacey assaulted him in Westminster in 2005. Police officers from the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault segment of the police are now looking at Kevin Spacey.

The Old Vic theatre in London, where Spacey was artistic director from 2004 to 2015, says it has received 20 complaints against the actor.

He claims Spacey, who played lead character Frank Underwood in House of Cards, refused to acknowledge the black team members and even made racial slurs. He has not commented further on any of the allegations against him, the investigation or loss of his job since the backlash that statement received.

"On 1 November, City of London Police referred an allegation of sexual assault to the Metropolitan Police Service".

In the subsequent fallout, Spacey was sacked from House of Cards and replaced in Ridley Scott's All the Money in the World.

A statement by his representatives to Business Insider, made in November, said: "Kevin Spacey is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment".
