The remainder of the fixes would be issued by the end of January.

Recent revelations about processor architectures within Intel chips which has the potential to affect nearly all computers and users worldwide, either by making sensitive data vulnerable or massively slowing down processing times, have made headline news globally.

Krzanich showed how companies are using Intel's technology to transform their businesses through AI.

Intel went big on autonomous driving on Monday, showcasing its first self-driving test vehicle and announcing a number of tie-ups with automakers to take the technology forward. Using the Mobileye REM technology, SAIC will develop level three, four and five autonomous cars.

Intel chief executive Brian Krzanich speaks at the 2018 CES show in Las Vegas.

Krzanich also added that the firm's autonomous vehicle efforts are being expanded into China following the inking of a partnership with SAIC Motor, a Chinese automaker.

Some of Intel's data center customers, whose thousands of computers run cloud networks, are exploring using microchips from the market leader's rivals to build new infrastructure after the discovery of security flaws affecting most chips.

Self driving cars are in focus at CES this year. Such a leak could potentially expose stored passwords and other sensitive data, including personal photos, emails and instant messages. Cavium said it aimed to rival the performance of Intel chips for applications like databases and the content-delivery networks that help speed things like how fast online videos load. "It is a step toward quantum supremacy - a point at which quantum computers far and away surpass the world's best supercomputers", he said.

During the Intel keynote, Krzanich said Intel's labs and researchers are "committed" to advancing quantum computing, with a Netherlands-based lab specifically testing and building quantum computing systems. "As audiences are moving from a flat screen to an immersive experience we'll be able to convey the world in a way closer to reality than cinema has ever been able to do before", Paramount CEO and Chairman Jim Gianopulos said Monday at CES. But how this is changing technology is essentially with the way the data is used.

Earlier in his presentation, Krzanich showed off the cameras that provide the wraparound views of sporting events and announced that Intel has opened a testing studio in Southern California to experiment with using the same technology to make movies.

Beyond autonomous cars, Krzanich also demonstrated the Volocopter, a fully electric, vertical takeoff and landing aircraft designed for passenger transport.
