HTC U11 EYEs features 6-inch display, Snapdragon 652, and more

HTC U11 EYEs features 6-inch display, Snapdragon 652, and more

According to Blass, HTC will launch the new smartphone on Monday, January 15th. The company has teased the launch via a Weibo post saying to keep your eyes open and to save the date.

Thanks to Evan Blass, we also have a good idea of what the HTC U11 EYEs could look like. So by launching the U11 EYEs, the company will re-enter the dual camera smartphone market.

HTC previously used the Eye branding for the Desire Eye, which had a 13-megapixel front-facing camera, but with the plural of Eyes it was thought the phone would come with two cameras instead. As a result, the top and bottom front bezels are thinner, while the 6-inch 2160 x 1080 Super LCD3 display notably features rounded corners. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor and pack 4GB of RAM. The device also supports microSD card for expanding storage. The handset will house a 3930mAh battery and a USB Type-C port for charging.

Sadly, despite it being 2018, the U11 EYEs will be launched running Android Nougat rather than Android Oreo. Blass in his tweet also reveals the the U11 EYEs will be available in Black, Silver and Red colour options.

As per as its specifications are concerned, HTC U11 EYEs is a mid-range device. It seems that the wait is over, however, with the phone set to be announced on January 15. It has been used before on other midrange phones and this is exactly what you get with the incoming U11 EYEs. The leaked images also show a fingerprint sensor placed just below it. The Snapdragon 652 is a mid-range processor, but that should really be a big deal when it comes to day to day use. Some report suggests that the phone will go on sale from 17th January in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
