Circuit City to make comeback online next month

The relaunch will begin February 15, reports consumer electronics magazine Twice, who attended the press briefing at the Consumer Electronics Show.

Shmoel said Circuit City will launch a personalized online shopping experience February 15 that melds e-commerce, social networking and solution selling to "allow the products to find the consumers" as they browse the site, Twice reported.

CNBC reports the company made the announcement earlier this week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The Circuit City bankruptcy came in 2008, which was followed by a new ownership that attempted to operate the company strictly online after shuttering its last physical location in 2009.

Circuit City's ecommerce site will serve as a key element of its new structure and will be enabled with IBM Watson's artificial intelligence platform, Twice reported.

Eventually, the revitalized company plans to open showroom-style stores as part of its brick-and-mortar retail strategy.

This will be Circuit City's second attempt at a comeback.

Down the line, Circuit City plans to gear up towards its own showrooms, according to consumer electronics website.

Shmoel took control of the brand, domain and trademarks of the company in October 2015, CNBC reported.
