Bungie Ready To Tone Down Micro-Transactions, Adds Free Season Content

Destiny 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This will likely be the ranking system that numerous Destiny community's PvP-focused players will be seeking to increase the most.

Predict the future like Osiris with our Destiny 2 update tracker. Interestingly, the PC version of Destiny 2 will also get text chat in the Tower hub at this time. Will it be just as disappointing as the 2016 iteration? Will we still have to rely on tokens and luck to claim prizes? Bungie's even implementing all these Eververse changes as early as Crimson Days, which kicks off February 13. The blog post itself was very long, you can read it in its entirety here, but one part specifically addressed Eververse concerns and how much of the cosmetic items in-game, which many grind in the MMO specifically for, were locked behind paywalls. During this time, players can earn exclusive loot such as a Legendary Emote and Sparrow by completing Nightfall, Raid, and Crimson Days Milestones. The biggest difference is that each faction's reward pool will replace last year's accessories with season two armor ornaments. Players have been fuming for months and reasons run the gamut. Every player of Destiny 2 will receive new content in the following categories...

First up, the in-game microtransaction store known as Eververse is here to stay. And Bungie is finally reigning in some changes widely perceived as evidence of corporate greed. Christopher Barrett, says "We recognize that the scales are tipped too far towards Tess at the moment, and Eververse was never meant to be a substitute for end game content and rewards".

To try and course correct, Bungie will be adding Ghosts, Sparrows and ships to activity rewards, so that Bright Engrams are less essential to Destiny 2's endgame. While players were rewarded with Bright Engrams-special Engrams that yield items from the Eververse-these rewards are few and far between, and rarely yield the more high-end items.
