Barcelona Complete £10.5 Million Signing Of Yerry Mina From Palmeiras

The La Liga side have announced they have agreed a transfer fee of £10.5million for the 23-year-old. He has also scored another three with the Colombian national team with whom he has now made nine appearances since his debut on 8 June 2016.

Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Colombia global Yerry Mina from Palmeiras on a five-and-a-half year deal.

The board asked Mascherano to stay at the club until Yerry Mina arrived.

Mascherano has started only six La Liga games so far this season, with Thomas Vermaelen typically selected by Valverde as Gerard Pique's partner in the absence of the injured Samuel Umtiti.

Barcelona has a termination clause worth €100 million attached to Mina's contract.

Mina is known for his speed and daring.

Mina was a key part for Palmeiras when it won the Brazilian league in 2016 and was runner-up a year ago.

Mina will be the first Colombian to play for Barcelona and Faustino Asprilla tweeted a graphic of the signing. Barcelona said the match served as a trial for Mosquera, who did not join the club. He missed part of last season because of a serious foot injury with Palmeiras.

Barcelona faces Celta Vigo at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Round of 16 in Copa del Rey action at Camp Nou in Barcelona. Barcelona has a nine-point lead over Atletico Madrid at the halfway point.
