Amazon Alexa Set to Become Power Business Tool on Windows 10 PCs

Forward looking statements contained in this release relate to the Vuzix Blade AR Smart Glasses and new business opportunities with it, and among other things and the Company's leadership in the Smart Glasses and AR display industry. "Customers who connect their devices with the Amazon Alexa app can take advantage of all the great features available through AVS, including streaming media, smart home capabilities, thousands of Alexa skills, calendar management, weather updates, and more", Gagan Luthra, Head of Developer Marketing, Amazon, in a blog post. With Alexa, customers can simply ask for directions, control entertainment, get the news, add items to a shopping list, control their smart home while on the road, and more. The brand unveiled its latest product named Vuzix Blade which is a pair of AR smart glasses that floats a screen in the upper right corner of the user's vision.

"As Vuzix' next earnest step into consumer-grade augmented reality, the Vuzix Blade AR glasses will undoubtedly blaze the trail toward logical, approachable AR for everyone, with Amazon's Alexa digital assistant steering the wheel".

"We have all seen how Alexa has transformed interaction in homes, but in today's world, we are constantly on the go".

The most impressive aspect of the Blade glasses, however, isn't the Alexa compatibility at all- it's how bold and crisp the display looks. In an interview with the outlet, Vuzix CEO Paul Travers said you can issue voice commands to Alexa and have information displayed on your field of view, so long as you have an Amazon account. Prices should come down as the enterprise adopts the glasses in a big way.

The company announced the partnership at Consumer Electronic Show (CES), happening in Las Vegas. Founded in 1997, Vuzix is a public company (NASDAQ: VUZI) with offices in Rochester, NY, Oxford, UK and Tokyo, Japan.

What is more exciting to hear is that Amazon has expressed its intentions to extend the Alexa technology to wearables and fitness devices and beyond. They are generally identified by words such as "believes", "may", "expects", "anticipates", "should" and similar expressions.
