Uttarakhand natural disaster measuring 5.5 Richter Scale hits Rudraprayag; tremors in north India

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said natural disaster tremors with magnitude 5.5 hit Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand, depth 30 km.

No casualty has been reported yet from any of the states.

Severe tremors of natural disaster were felt in all the districts of Uttarakhand including Chamoli, Uttarkashi, New Tehri, Dehradun and Haridwar.

According to the Centre for Seismology, an quake of 5.5 magnitude was reported in Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand.

As per media reports Vibrations were also felt in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla, Kullu and Mandi, and some parts of Punjab and Haryana.

Tremors were also felt in Tamil Nadu's Chennai and Uttarakhand's Chamoli, indicating that the seismic event occured pan-India.

The quake was felt in the entire state.
