Shooting reported at high school in New Mexico

Sheriff's officials say they're responding to a shooting at Aztec High School in Aztec, New Mexico, reports CBS affiliate KRQE.

Bloomfield cops said Thursday they were aware of an active shooter situation at Aztec High School.

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office is telling residents to stay clear of the area.

It wasn't immediately clear if the shooting happened inside the school, who was suspected of firing the shots and what condition the wounded were in.

All other schools in the district have been placed on lockdown.

A spokesman for Aztec Police Department informed parents of initial information, and a video of it was shared on Facebook by a reporter for TV station KOB. The extent of injuries in the school is unknown at this time. Both Bloomfield and Farmington High Schools are on lockdown.
