It has a major 11.x update with several new features and bug fixes.

The biggest highlights of iOS 11.2 is the introduction of Apple Pay Cash that will allow you to send and receive money from friends and family using Apple Pay in iMessage. The update was pushed out ahead of schedule due to a very serious bug which was crashing all iOS devices. It also appears slightly faster in the apps. This facility is only available for users in the United States as of now.

On top of that, iOS 11.2 also adds support for faster 7.5-watt wireless charging on the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X with Qi-based charging pads.

As for the rest of the features that this update brings, you have three new Live wallpapers, improvements in the video stabilization, support to automatically advance to the next episode of the same show in Podcasts and includes downhill snow sports distance as a data type in HealthKit.

Also, addresses an issue where Find My iPhone sometimes wouldn't display a map, fixes an issue in Messages where the keyboard could overlap the most recent message along with the issue in Calculator where typing numbers rapidly could lead to incorrect results. Some of them are, an issue that caused cleared Mail notifications from Exchange accounts to reappear, an issue where Settings could open a blank screen.

The bug, which is related to notifications from third-party apps, is in iOS 11 and it caused problems as the calendar changed to December 2. The update is available over-the-air (OTA) for the following compatible devices, apart from current generation iPhones - iPhone 5s and later, iPad Air and iPad Pro, iPad 5th generation, iPad mini 2 and later and iPod touch 6th generation.
