Spice Girls: New report suggests the Fab Five will reunite in 2018

There have been Spice Girls reunion rumors in so many forms and configurations the past few years that we're not sure what to believe but, according to Britain's NME, all five members are looking to record a new album next year and do a TV special.

It had been exceedingly hard the last few years to get any full Spice Girls reunion up and running, especially with Victoria generally holding out from re-joining the group for any sort of performance nostalgia, but sources are now saying that the group has been locked in "secret talks" for months, and it looks like things are FINALLY starting to come together.

Since then getting the five Spices together in the same room has been hard, and it usually only happens for special occasions like the opening night of Viva Forever! the Spice Girls musical, or the opening ceremonies for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Apparently it's all down to the goddess that is Sporty Spice, who, along with the girl's former boss, has been working on plans for the one-off TV special and compilation album.

"The fact she is on board now is down to how much closer the five of them have become recently".

In October, Geri teased that a Spice Girls reunion could be on the cards as she admitted to struggling to unite the girls in the past, telling Red magazine: "I really pushed to get everyone back together".

"But gradually the ice thawed, and Mel was the one who drove that".

Sources suggest The Spice Girls could be getting back together in 2018.

Or is it just wishful thinking from an English tabloid eager to stoke anticipation that the world's top-selling female vocal group of all time will get together one more time?

"I still love the girls and there are other bits and bobs in the pipeline". Will their "girl power" empowerment slogan still resonate two decades after the group's heyday? Melanie Brown aka Scary Spice's tumultuous divorce and the birth of Geri Halliwell aka Ginger Spice's son have motivated them to let bygones be bygones and revive their sisterhood.
