Lizzy Caplan in Talks to Join 'Gambit'

The actress is now in talks to star in the upcoming movie "Gambit".

Lizzy Caplan has joined the cast of Gabmit as the film's female lead opposite Channing Tatum, according to Variety. She has also wrapped the sci-fi thriller Extinction, which pairs her with Michael Peña. However, given all the issues Gambit has dealt with since then, it's unclear if Seydoux is still involved with the production, and subsequently, we don't know yet if Caplan would be brought in as Seydoux's replacement or if she would play a different character if a deal is reached.

Lizzy Caplan is a major coup, too, given she's garnered a number of big roles across Cloverfield, 127 Hours, and Now You See Me 2, and this will be her first foray into the superhero space.

Caplan next appears in "The Disaster Artist" with James Franco. As part of a peace pact between the Thieves' Guild and their rivals, the Assassin's Guild, a marriage was arranged between Remy and Bella Donna Boudreaux, the granddaughter of the head of the Assassin's Guild. She'll join Channing Tatum for Fox's X-Men spinoff, though details of her role are practically non-existent this early in the game. Long-time producers of the X-Men franchise Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner will also produce. It even has a release date for Valentine's Day, 2019, which will serve as a personal love letter for all of those fans desperate to finally see Gambit come to life.
