Victor Garber Departing Legends of Tomorrow This Season

Victor Garber will exit DC's Legends of Tomorrow during the just-premiered third season according to Deadline. The cast also includes Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh, Nick Zano, and Maisie Richardson-Sellers. We reached out to CW for clarification, but the network declined to comment.

Rumors of Garber's possible exit grew more frenzied in summer. The veteran musical theater actor has been tapped to star alongside Bernadette Peters in the Tony-winning revival of "Hello, Dolly!". Garber is set to replace David Hyde Pierce as Horace Vandergelder in the stage play, and his first show is scheduled on January 20 next year.

Following their meet-and-greet with Julius Caesar (Simon Merrells) last night, the Legends will be going to the circus in "Freakshow", traveling back in time to 1870 to take care of another anachronism at P.T. Barnum's (Billy Zane) circus. At least that likely means he's not getting killed off? With him being one of the best parts of the show, it's unknown how well it'll do without him.

However, if Garber does exit the series, it could be a temporary departure.

Another possibility is to keep using the Victor Garber character, but maybe as time travel is involved, a younger version could be used, which would still enable Victor Garber to return some time down the line.

It's hard to imagine the Legends of Tomorrow crew without its resident professor, but that's exactly what fans will have to get used to after season 3 is over.
