Taylor Twellman is outraged over the USA's World Cup exit

Following the loss, ESPN soccer analyst Taylor Twellman went on an epic rant blasting US soccer as a whole.

On Wednesday, Major League Soccer released a statement following the U.S. National Team's failure to reach the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

When co-host Max Bretos said this loss would cause "the gloves to come off" and shake up the program, Twellman pointed out that should have already happened. We should have been having real criticism. Major League Soccer launched two years later; cable television and the Internet brought top European clubs to American televisions and later laptops and cell phones. And the discussion after Brazil, Max, was 'Can we beat the Colombias and the Belgiums and the Argentinas of the world?' You kidding me?

"There's an arrogance in our sport that I don't understand", Twellman said, explaining that American arrogance in American football, baseball, basketball and hockey is fine because the US has the best leagues in those sports.

The 37-year-old described it as an "utter embarrassment" that the USA couldn't get a draw from Trinidad and Tobago, and left a warning to the players in the team. What are we doing? "They have not done a good enough job of getting this group ready to play".

Arena, whose contract runs out in July, did not resume his role with U.S. Soccer under the best circumstances last November.

"As an ex player, everyone of those players [will have] nightmares for the rest of their lives because this is an utter embarrassment", he said. 'You don't deserve to go to the World Cup'.
