"Halloween" - Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (John Carpenter Cover) [YouTube Audio Single]

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and his longgtime collaborator Atticus Ross joined forces again for a dark, brooding, synth-heavy rendition of the theme song from John Carpenter's classic slasher film, "Halloween". Alternatively, you can just listen to it on repeat on YouTube every day until actual Halloween.

"I clearly remember my friends and I at thirteen years old conning our parents into letting us see "Halloween" when it came out in 1978", says Reznor. "We left the theatre forever changed". We were damaged and scarred, with the sh*t genuinely scared out of us and that theme stuck firmly in our heads. And while we previously knew that Carpenter would be serving as executive producer for the new film, it also looks as if he'll be doing its music as well.

John Carpenter will return as the composer for the next Halloween movie, as the director himself confirmed in a interview.

The new version of the Halloween score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross stays pretty true to the original, while adding a new depth and creepiness to it that is distinctly the handy work of Reznor and Ross. "I'm impressed". As we get closer to the great celebration that is Halloween, put this theme on repeat and enjoy.

Carpenter said, "Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago".

Carpenter will executive produce with Malek Akkad producing for Trancas and Jason Blum producing for Blumhouse.

The film will arrive in theaters from Universal Pictures on October 19, 2018, forty years after the premiere of the original film.
