'Fashion Police' canceled, to air farewell special in November

"Fashion Police" is ending on E! after a 22-year run, Variety reports.

The show, which debuted in 1995, became famous for its scathing critiques of celebrities' outfits, mostly at awards shows (Joan Rivers was a particularly iconic red carpet standout). It was, most of the time, Rivers' world on the then-weekly program, with the rest of the co-hosts often playing backboard to her zingers.

"Fashion Police" will sing its swan song next month as the long-running franchise ends.

After co-creator and host Joan Rivers' death in 2014, the show featured a rotating door of hosts including Kathy Griffin, who promptly left the show after seven episodes. "Fashion Police: The Farewell" will air on November 27. The special will take viewers behind the scenes with insider scoop from the cast and crew and reveal never-before-seen footage from the groundbreaking series - including an unaired 80's themed episode with Joan and the gang.

"Thank you to E! for having the vision to see the potential of Fashion Police which changed both the entertainment and fashion industries", Melissa said in a statement.

The upcoming Fashion Police: The Farewell episode will commemorate the show's success and round up the most outrageous, hysterical and unforgettable moments from segments like "Bitch Stole My Look", "Guess Me From Behind", and "Starlet or Streetwalker".

Melissa, who is one of the executive producers of the show, told Variety, "I am so proud to have been a part of this show and am so proud that it's part of my mother's legacy".

Fashion Police covered every major award show and fashion event through the lens of Rivers' comedic commentary.
