Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon arrested for domestic violence

Former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Nicholas Brendon was arrested earlier this month in California for domestic violence against his girlfriend.

Brendon was arrested on October 12 in Palm Springs for allegedly violating a protective order against an unnamed girlfriend, according to E! He also allegedly forced her to sit down by yanking her hair, TMZ reports.

Police sources have told ET that the woman has two other protective orders against Brendon in both NY and Florida. When she attempted to get up to leave, she was once again brought back on his chair by the actor of Buffy against the vampires, who this time grabbed her hair to hold it in place. The orders apparently allow the 46-year-old actor to be near her, but prohibit him from threatening, harassing, injuring or assaulting her.

This isn't the first time Brendon has been on the wrong side of the law.

Brendon was previously arrested in Boise, Idaho in October 2014 when witnesses called the cops to report a disturbance between the actor and hotel employees.

The girlfriend has active protective orders against Brendon in Florida and NY, police told the newspaper. Brendon was charged with "malicious injury to property", in that incident.

In 2015, Nicholas plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge after being accused of choking his girlfriend in a hotel room. A month later he was arrested in Tallahassee Florida on almost identical charges.

In the same year, he appeared on Dr Phil twice to discuss his struggles with depression and alcohol addiction.

Brendon played Xander Harris in all 145 episodes of Buffy from 1996 to 2003.

USA Today have since reported that Brendon will appear at a hearing in California on 28 November, while he is now scheduled to appear in Brisbane from 10-12 November and Adelaide from 18-19 November.
