At a public rally in Gujarat's Valsad area, Adityanath went after the Congress vice president, saying the Congress loses every time the junior Gandhi campaigns for it.

The Congress Working Committee, the highest decision making body in the party, is expected to meet soon to decide the dates for the election of a new president.

Rahul Gandhi's allegations against RSS for discrimination against women on Wednesday dragged him into a political controversy, but the Congress vice-president is in the limelight yet again.

BJP's top leaders including party chief Amit Shah, Union minister Smriti Irani and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath descended on Amethi on Tuesday and unveiled a plethora of projects. On being asked about chances of BJP securing over 150 seats in the Gujarat elections, he told ANI, "Easy target for BJP as development and infrastructure work done here is a symbol of trust". He said that the next promise Modi might make to the people of Gujarat is that he will give them a rocket each to ferry them to Moon. "Uttar Pradesh has adopted the Gujarat model of development and is implementing many schemes", he said.

He was referring to Rahul Gandhi's two visits to Gujarat during which he visited several temples, including Kabir Mandir in Saliya and was seen sporting a "tilak" on his forehead.

"The UPA government did everything to ensure that Sardar Sarovar Dam did not get completion or objections were raised unnecessarily", he said.

"We have completed three years in power and there is not even a single charge of corruption against us".

Four members of the Nehru-Gandhi family have represented the constituency in the Lok Sabha since 1980.
