Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho

"He will be allowed to head off on holiday during the global break and then return for a comeback to action".

Ahead of the game, Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he's given reporters a team news and injury update.

Mourinho said: "I have no idea".

"I'm not going to cry or count the days for Pogba to return".

"I have no idea when he [Pogba] will be back, no idea, but again, this is a great opportunity for other players to play and I trust them all".

Although some United supporters might be concerned that Mourinho's comments might suggest a longer-than-anticipated lay-off for the player, others interpreted them in a slightly more positive way.

He faces a race against time to be fit for next month's trip to Liverpool on October 14.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly told France global Paul Pogba to take a break.

Luke Shaw is hoping to be involved against his former club having returned from injury as a substitute in the 4-1 Carabao Cup win against Burton. After the final global break of the season, their next game will be Liverpool.

Initial reports indicated the France worldwide could be out of action for three months but Mourinho downplayed the issue, per MailOnline's Adam Shergold.
