Some people will really want a connected fitness tracker (making phone calls on a run is cool, I guess), but it definitely remains to be seen if the Apple Watch will truly become the first must-have smartwatch.

The Apple Watch Series 3 is slated to go on sale on Friday as a part of a pre-order program, while the device will hit the market on September 22. Watch OS 4 will be available to customers starting September 19th.

The Series 3 allows users to stream music from their wrist through Bluetooth headphones, such as Apple's wireless Airpods.

The next generation Apple Watch Series 3, will have cellular built in, Apple also confirmed today.

Citing an information leak, Bloomberg reported that the phone will be called the iPhone X. It will be one of three phones, including the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, unveiled Tuesday, according to Bloomberg. Without cellular, it will cost from $329, while adding cellular bumps the cost to $399.

The original Apple Watch tracked fitness, but users needed their phone to take and make calls or texts, listen to music, or use Global Positioning System and altitude data. Siri On Apple Watch can now offer enhanced functions, and also respond back in voice and not just text prompts.

The Apple Watch Series 3 is capable of acting as a standalone smartphone.

But we have concerns, chief among them, battery life.

Before the original Apple Watch was released, rumours suggested that, in addition to heart rate and movement monitoring, it would include biometric sensors to track vital stats such as blood sugar levels and more. It also has new gyroscopes and accelerometers to enable augmented reality functions. The smartwatch this year comes in Grey Ceramic colour. However, the centerpiece of the bunch is a Siri face that displays timely info, such as reminders, meetings and news. The upgraded streaming box comes with CPU with performance twice as fast and graphics 4 times faster. 12 event, taking place at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, are the iPhone 8, iPhone 7S, and the Apple Watch 3.

Alongside these changes, Apple has introduced new straps and finishes as always. In the USA, the TV 4K will show live sports and news for the first time.
