Andrew Bogut set to join the Lakers on a one-year deal

According to his agent David Bauman, Andrew Bogut has signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Bogut won a championship with the Warriors in 2015 and will return to Oracle Arena to face them on December 22.

Zubac is entering his second year in the National Basketball Association, while Bryant will play his first season. Above all else, they need a veteran big man who can actually be a leader unlike what Timofey Mozgov brought to the table.

The team has been mediocre in recent seasons and have racked up some unwanted records along the way in terms of losses. However, the recruiting prowess of Walton (teamed up with Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka) is certainly worth monitoring moving forward.

It's likely Bogut will provide back up to centre Brook Lopez and he joins highly touted No.2 draft pick Lonzo Ball as among their recruits.

The Australian-born player also apparently received interest from the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Vertical's Shams Charania, who first reported the signing, writes that Bogut wanted to reunite with head coach Luke Walton. He holds career averages of 10.0 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks across parts of 11 seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks.

The 32-year-old Bogut is coming off a disappointing season where he reached a buyout from the Philadelphia 76ers before joining the Cleveland Cavaliers, only to suffer a broken leg 58 seconds into his debut.
