United Kingdom police say they arrested wrong man in jogging-rage case

Mr Bellquist, a top boss at the Wagamama and Byron restaurant chains, says he has "irrefutable proof" he was in the USA at the time of the incident, which took place at 7.40am on May 5. Duncan Lewis solicitors issued a statement on Twitter claiming Bellquist was not in Britain when the attack happened in May.

CCTV showed the bus swerving, narrowly avoiding the 33-year-old woman, who suffered minor injuries, at around 7.40am.

Bellquist, who works for London-based private equity firm Hutton Collins Partners, was questioned but not officially charged during his arrest and was later released.

Police said last night that he is still under active investigation.

The arrest came after police released surveillance camera footage showing a jogger in shorts and T-shirt banging into a pedestrian, who tumbled in front of a double-decker bus.

A wealthy United States investment banker has been arrested by police searching for a jogger who shoved a woman into the path of a bus in London.

After the May 5 incident, the bus stopped, while passengers climbed off to help the woman.

Proud colleagues praised the hero bus driver whose quick-thinking saved the woman shoved in the path of his double decker.

Some 15 minutes later, the suspect passed his victim again on the bridge, going the other way.

The Met said he will face no further action.

In the meanwhile, since #London Police released the dramatic CCTV footage, they have reportedly received excellent feedback from the public.
