Need for Speed Payback Unveils 2018 BMW M5

A new Need For Speed Payback trailer that was shown at Gamescom today shows off one of the many new cars you'll be able to drive in the game, the 2018 BMW M5.

Need for Speed Payback is a racing video game developed by Ghost Games and published by Electronic Arts for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. For those who missed Monday's announcement, the new M5 will be an all-wheel-drive, 600-horsepower super sedan that'll hit 60 miles per hour in a mere 3.2 seconds. "This is a flawless example for a fruitful cooperation in modern marketing with benefits for everyone and a new milestone after the BMW M2's debut in 2015's Need for Speed". It will be making its auto show debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September, where AutoGuide.com will be reporting live and taking our first look at the new sports sedan.

Bosses say the game will provide players with a neat opportunity to sample the 591bhp M5's new M xDrive all-wheel drive running gear, "across various terrains in Need for Speed Payback".

Many Need For Speed fans fondly remember the high-speed cop chases from Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted.

Of course, the vehicle itself is about as traditional a performance M-series as anyone could hope for, at least from what little we know about it.
