Liverpool concede late goal, draw 3-3 at Watford

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says the timing of Phillipe Coutinho's transfer request means that it is unlikely to be granted.

Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp said on Saturday he has no control over whether Philippe Coutinho will stay at the club or move to Barcelona.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is confident that Philippe Coutinho will not be sold to Barcelona in this summer's transfer window.

"I think FSG have got it under control, and they're the key".

"If we sell a player, or don't sell him, then I must accept it". "We created two or three chances to score and this is the way we have to carry on and play. That's what I'm always doing". "It feels not too good, but we know we can do better and have to do better - that's what I told the boys". In defence an injury to Nathaniel Clyne could pave the way for Trent Alexander-Arnold who will be making just his third Premier League start.

"That can happen on the first matchday, we have to adapt to these things", mused Klopp, not sounding entirely convincing.

"You have to ask the club".

A win for Liverpool in their Premier League debut would be a much-needed confidence booster and help settle the starting line-up ahead of the upcoming (and crucial) Champions League clash against Hoffenheim on Tuesday.

The experienced Uruguayan defender celebrated just his second Watford goal since joining the club but, despite a solid result, the former Napoli man wants to see improvements.

Watford were good value for their lead at half-time and looked comfortable at the start of the second-half, only for Heurelho Gomes to bring down Mohamed Salah and give away a penalty. "We had our moments then we conceded an offside goal", Klopp said.

However, the Brazilian himself has handed in the transfer request, with Barcelona reportedly keen on replacing the departed Neymar with Coutinho. It was pretty clear what the club said about it.

"I have said what the club's decision is about this and now you can read it - that is maybe the only difference".

"We've conceded from a set-piece, that's disappointing, that needs to change quickly if we're going to do anything this season".
