Stabenow Speaks Out Against GOP's Latest Health Care Bill

CBO analysis of the bill predicts that 23 million Americans would lose their health insurance, while the top 1 percent of Americans would enjoy $306 billion in tax cuts over 10 years.

The latest Republican effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act is being shunned by U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow.

"Every indication suggests that the plan unveiled by Senate Republicans yesterday will be even more devastating to New Jersey than the mean-spirited unpopular bill passed by the House of Representatives earlier this year".

"The Medicaid cuts are the part of the Senate bill that probably give us the most heartburn", Moller said.

Speaking on the release of the bill, which was kept under wraps until Thursday, Trump said: "It's going to be very good", adding: "A little negotiation, but it's going to be very good".

"I can not imagine that these very fine Republican Senators would allow the American people to suffer a broken ObamaCare any longer!" he wrote.

Sandoval, a Republican who chose to opt into expanding Medicaid, said 210,000 received health coverage because of the decision. In addition, Susan Collins (R-ME) expressed reservations Thursday, and on Sunday said it would be "extremely difficult" for McConnell to "come up with a bill this week" that both she and Sen.

All appear ready to negotiate changes before the expected vote ahead of the week-long congressional recess around the July 4th holiday celebrating the U.S.'s 18th century independence from England.

One of the Republican senators who's opposing his party's health care bill as written says the Senate shouldn't vote on the plan this week.

On Twitter this weekend, Trump urged the dissenting Republican senators to get behind the bill.

Trump held a victory celebration in the Rose Garden of the White House after the House vote, but since then has called the legislation "mean". "People aren't out here because it's super fun to be in the spitting rain, protesting for hours, people are out here because it's literally life or death", Vashti Bandi of South Philadelphia said. Mike Lee. Heller is the first, however, to oppose the current bill from a moderate policy perspective. Several other Republicans, including moderate Susan Collins of ME, are still undecided about the legislation.

Those Republican senators are right, this plan should be dead on arrival.

"I can not support a piece of legislation that takes insurance away from tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Nevadans", said Heller. And it would keep more of Obamacare's insurance regulations than the House legislation.
